Has anyone noticed a security flaw on these mifi devices, where you can press a button and the SSID and wifi key gets displayed on the screen?. Unless you trust everyone around you at all times and make sure the hotspot is with you at all times, anyone could get the wifi key and ssid and logon to that mifi

Yip it does display key, but I think the point of the mifi is that you most probably keep on you or in a bag or something

I have a few colleagues that use these at home, instead of buying a 3g router + modem seperately, as its more convenient, even Huawei markets it for home use.

There you go.... If for home use or kept on you, don't think you'll have a problem with someone gaining unwanted access

Use a little bag or hide them in your pocket

I am also using a HUAWEI E589, for the above question, i setting hiding the SSID while login the admin contral panel, if forgot the SSID or password, im link the device through USB cable to the computer and login admin the could find our the details again.

there is some difference between them: R210 compatible LTE 800/1800/2600MHz but E589 supports LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz, that's should be perfect if it is support Ethernet additional!
