After installing version .141 of the BB Storm firmware, Vodafone Satnav started giving me problems. Main problem is the the bottom half of the screen is taken up with the virtual keyboard, with no way of removing it. The result is that I cannot see/access buttons in that part of the screen. I've tried removing the app and re-installing, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

What you need to do is disable compatibility mode. Go to options>advanced options>applications go to vodacom sat nav and press the blackberry button then select disable compatibility mode.

This will fix your problem.

Hi VodacomData

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't keen on using my data bundle to download the upgrade file (at least 200 MB). In theory the download could be channeled through the Blackberry service (on device), but at the current speeds there is significant risk that the link will be broken during a long download and one will have to start all over.

Any chance of an upgrade file being added soon to the Vodacom free download page for Blackberry?

Not anytime soon with all the BB FW releases , even the avid BB user is finding it difficult to keep up with releases.I upgraded to 164 and now there`s another release for the storm..

Hi Akafreakazoid - thanks for the tip - it worked - you're a star!

According to some users on this forum, .164 appears to be the most stable with the least memory leakage. .167 apparently offers no noticeable improvements with slightly worse memory leakage.

Am using/testing 164 had no problems , besides when activating the silent function there is no indication that you have turned it on.

Has anyone else been experiencing problems with Vodafone Satnav on BB Storm lately?

I'm getting a error message on startup saying that the Vodafone SatNav is unable to connect to the network. My Facebook app seems to be working fine which runs on BIS. I'm running .141 firmware.

I dont think it is limited to the Storm. My 8310 has been saying "Network timeout. Please check your network settings"

Strange. I hope this never happens when I need to actually find my way home from somewhere.

OK, I have deleted my satnav and did a new install. Download speed was good so nothing wrong with the network as far as I can tell. It installed but when I start it up it still gives the "network timeout" error.

Started since VC has upgraded the link - the same happened last time, also Google maps do not work. BB maps do work.

And I actually needed it on Saturday - epic failure!!!!!!

Hi. I had the same problem on my 8310. I went into email setup...then help, then send service books. waited a while and it fixed the problem.

Have you tried that?
