Voice calls possible with MTN 2GB data contract?

Hi all,

I want to get the 2GB MTN Data @ R149pmx24 contract for my Nexus S since I'm a heavy data user. The reason for going with MTN is coverage as I travel rural areas often and then my CellC is absolutely useless. Now my question is, can I do Voice calls and receive calls with the 2GB MTN contract? I'm sure someone on the forum can clear that up for us.
 
you can recieve and make calls with the sim but you can´t buy data bundles

My understanding from this thread is that I can aquire a (2 gb 3g deal from MTN @ R149) and then make voice calls using the sim.

How is the billing done on the sim can I purchase prepaid airtime , or does it use units from the data bundle?
 
Hi there

The calls get charged at standard rates, there are no units to allocate for calls- with regards to purchasing more than the 2GB indicated il have to get back to you after i consult with my colleagues- that is unless one of the forumites who uses this deal can comment on whether its possible?

does this mean I will get a bill at the end of the month where I pay in, as if I had gone out of Bundle on the 2 gig of data
makes more sence now.

I wanted to stick this in an andriod phone and still be able to make and receive calls
