Void storage

So it looks like we have a new banking function called void storage. To me right now, it just looks like an expensive bank option but perhaps I am missing something? Is this just extra paid for slots to dump items for one character. Or do all your characters have access to the same void storage so you can swap items between characters more easily?

Really wanting to take my heirlooms to other servers, so hoping this is more than just extra bag space.

Is this not the storage you use for old gear pieces? i.e. the old gear sets you need so that you can change the look of your new gear?

Void storage is aimed at storing item sets because soon you'll be able to clone gear skins to use on existing armor.

So for instance I can use my lvl60 bloodfang set's appearance on my rogue's lvl 85 gear to make it look like the bloodfang set, but with lvl85 stats on it.

They sort of stole this idea from LOTRO where you have 3 gear slots of which one is a cosmetic slot only.

blue post's on mmo-champion mentioned that they are working on that at the moment but no eta can be given.

Void storage is meant to be a long term storage option, when you put gear in there, it is stripped of all Gems and Enchants etc. it is not meant to be an extra bank, it is for those old tier sets and things you know you want to keep long term, they dont want people using it as a second bank that is why there is the withdrawal fee of 25g.

Just to clarify, if your thinking that you need to use Void Storage to transmogrify gear (take the look of another piece of gear and use it on your current gear), that is Wrong, to Transmogrify, you need to have the the piece of gear you are using to transmogrify in your bags.

That sucks I just deleted my old cool tier sets from the bank the other day to make space . Will I still be able to use the old tier skins even though I deleted them?

Unfortunately not However blizzard said they will be selling some of the old tier sets through vendors at the new Darkmoon Faire island, if i remember correctly. So you might be able to get some of it back

They already have some of them on Wowheads PTR site. Replica Beastmaster's Boots. All of the items from Darkmoon would be replicas and won't have the original stats. The beastmaster set seems to be the only one that have bonuses.
