Hi Everyone!

I recently installed Telkom uncapped LTE and so far so good (except for the occasional "slower" speeds in peak times) I think I am one of the lucky ones that don't have alot of issues with the LTE :-)

RSRP: -66dBm
SINR: >=30dB
(i have external antenna with line of sight of the tower) :-)

Having a reasonably stable connection for about two months, i decided to get a Yealink 56P base station & handset to also venture into the whole voip thing and must say I am really impressed! Call quality is actually better than my old telkom line (apparently our area had very old copper lines & I am far away from the exchange/box)

All that said... I am looking to get a headset to use with my PC as I do alot of technical support calls from home as well.

With so many headsets to choose from, i am not sure if i must go for a headset that is designed for voip, a normal (bit better than average) gaming headset or a bluetooth earpiece that can work with mobile as well as pc?

Idea/Problem 1 : If Aux Input, i would need a aux splitter as well as a headset with 2.2 - 3m cable (my box is under the table in the corner)
This looks like a nice Auxiliary voip headset : http://www.takealot.com/plantronics-audio-310-vocal-pc-headset-gun-metal-black/PLID17017667

Idea/Problem 2 : If i go for a normal USB headset i do not need all the adapters and additional cable length as i have a USB hub at the top of my desk (but the wire laying around is a bit irritating i must say... (Any advice on makes models welcome :-)

Idea/Problem 3 : Personally i think the first prize would be to go for a bluetooth headset that does not cost a arm and a leg. I have seen a few bluetooth compatible headsets that with built in mic (but it does not have a directional / adjustable microphone & i am not sure how the voice quality come out since we are 3 people in the home/office).

I was also thinking about getting THIS plantronics earpiece as it is on a lekker special on takealot but not 100% sure if it will pair with my PC for voip use as all the research give different opinions :-( Would be a bargain if i can double up my headset to work with my phone as well as PC :-)

These also looks like an awesome headset but again, i get mixed reviews if it will work with pc as well as mobile :

What bluetooth receiver will be the best for these options?

Thanks in advance & any advice will be appreciated!

Looks nice!

I am thinking in the R500 - R700 range for an Bluetooth device (300-500 for corded) otherwise I might just as well add a few bucks and get another cordless phone?

hmm...yeah in that range you're not getting decent wireless I think. I'd stay away from those ear only yuppie exec things like that THIS plantronics - doubt the audio will be good. Plus you'll look like a right chop...

On the wired side lots of options. You can pick up a MS Lifechat LX3000 for pretty cheap. Got one for 300...but that was a while back so I'd guess 500 now. Or you can get a wired sennheiser...should be just barely inside budget after ZA penalty. Like this

Awesome thank you :-)

I will have a look into the MS Lifechat and maybe the audio 310 / 365 from plantronics. I thought as much that i might be under budgeting for the wireless option :-)

Thank you for your advice!
