i am new to VOIP , so i hope u can help me. I know now that i have to pay for Voip service and i dont know where to search for it. I do have a VOIP phone " D-LINK DPH-10U" and i want to use it. The other thing i want to know, is it cheaper to make calls from the internet to land line's and cellphone then normal cell to land and cell to cell.

i have iburst and i see iburst has Icall. Will i be able to use my voip phone

Hi Spek,
In regard to your question 'is VoIP cheaper' the answer is yes ! The savings are achieved in the following ways, no need for high Telkom line rentals, you only require connectivity to the net, cheaper call rates and per/second billing.
To give you a perspective on what these call rates are and the related service charges look at www.whichvoip.co.za, most of the providers are listed and you may view their offerings

FNB Connect works very well for me, as a personal user, but for business, the call rates are way up, so looking for lower rates, that also gives a user telephone number so u can receive incoming calls.
which SIP VOIP client do most guys in ZA use? I got some accounts activated with MWEB Webcall,
i've downloaded Xlite 4, which seems to work OK, but not fully with the USB phone i'm testing with (http://www.von-phone.com/usb_desktop_skype_speakerphone.php)
and which ports TCP/UDP need to be opened?
many thanx for any advice
