Volkswagen Phaeton

Wonder how many are on local soil? Under correction, but I don't believe they were ever officially available here...
 
I remember reading reviews at the time of the car being launched. One review stated something that the guy had to look at the rev counter to see if the car was started because it was so quiet, he couldn't hear the engine. Finally at 160kph, he could start hearing a little wind noise.

I recall seeing it on top gear series 2, episode 10, think clarkson reviewed it, looked like an awesome car but bland.

The new model seems rather dull, this is a Passat with an expensive interior at a £7,000 discount. The 3.0L engine is nothing to brag about, seems more a VIP vehicle than anything else... LWB will not so great with SA road bumps… My conclusion is that this is a very expensive shaggin wagon.
