Vox Fibre router

Howzit ladies and gents.

I'm in the process of getting fibre through Vox and just wanted to find out what the range is on the router?

If the range isn't great which router should I get?

If possible suggest, cheap, mid priced and expensive routers and I'll do some research. Thanks.

I think Vox gives you a MikroTik router.

The wireless range should be the same as a normal ADSL routers wireless range.

I would suggest you get the router first then you can test the wireless and see what the range is before you buy anything else.

Yes, it's a MicroTik hAP ac lite

Also have Vox Fibre with the MikroTik hAP ac lite. Note it has dual band WiFi (2.4 & 5.0GHz), but all internal antenna's.

Your experience with the range of the router?

My consoles and PC are around 15 to 20 meters away from my current adsl router and the signal has to go through 2 walls and windowed sliding door. The signal gets there and is around 60% sometimes slightly higher.

Would say it's fine for same room applications, but if you need range, look elsewhere. Spec's quote antenna gain 1.5 & 2.0 dB which is not great.

Have you considered powerline adapters? Try before you buy, if possible, as the speeds vary greatly depending on the arrangement of the wiring between power sockets.
