Many years ago I signed up and paid an upfront installation and setup fee for VOX fibre on octotel. The upfront payment reduced the month to month charge which included a free to use router (the reason I made the upfront payment) since then as bandwidth costs have decreased VOX has periodically increased my line speed but never reduced my monthly charge.
My monthly invoices have always been a single line item with 1 charge.
Now my cc has expired and I had to update my payment details, as part of this process I received a mandate to agree to for the monthly debit order. Same total cost as always. But the mandate was split in to 3 charges, 1 isp charge, 2. Octotel line charge, and 3. A router rental charge.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen the charge split out this way … and my question is… if it was a free to use router as advertised … why is there a monthly router rental charge? Surely this should be removed and credited back or was it false advertising all along?
