I'm currently with Vox/Openserve and have a 100Gb/100mbps capped package.
I'm using 120Gb to 150Gb pm on average with the extra usage being covered by previously accrued usage credit.. At my current usage rate that will be used up in the next few months.
This morning I requested Vox to upgrade my cap from 100 Gb to 200 Gb only to be told that they are no longer have capped packages and I would need to upgrade to uncapped.
That will cost be about R300 extra per month.
I'm not at all happy about this. What capped options are still available with other ISPs. A quick look this morning seems to indicate that capped packages are a thing of the past !

Yeah, most ISP's are killing off capped packages on Fibre.

If you run out of your accrued usage credit, you'll have to look at paying for that extra bandwidth anyway. And, speaking from experience (when I was using Webafrica), it gets to be expensive.
Uncapped it simply easier for ISPs and for end-users which is why they're doing away with it.

I purposely stayed on capped when I got fibre, Im not a fan of uncapped packages and the ISP dictating my speeds at certain times of the day.
Unfortunately right after that Afrihost killed off capped accounts but they did migrate me to uncapped at the same price.

I still use a Vox standalone capped account most of the time, the uncapped just doesnt perform nearly as well.
