VOX Port Telkom Number. Cannot keep ADSL line.

I phoned VOX today and asked for the port form and the sales guy was adamant that if we port our Telkom number we would lose our ADSL service.

He said he was 100% sure and I should smack anyone who says otherwise...

So now what? Cannot port?

Your voice line and number are linked to your ADSL service. You can't have ADSL without a functioning voice line. The only way you can keep your ADSL service is by cancelling your voice line and ADSL after your port goes through, and then ordering a new voice line and ADSL service. Of course you'll be issued with a new Telkom number.

Not true. They assign a new phone number to the ADSL service.

Does vox offer voice lines and ability to port Telkom numbers for voice lines to Vox? Please pm me, Currently a Vox customer or would anyone else explain more please, preferably by pm ad I do not receive post notifications

when you port you need to specify "port with a number change" when the port goes through your number that everyone calls you on is ported to SP, and telkom assigns a new number to your adsl line the keep the functionality, you still need to pay telkom for the voice and data side until they offer adsl as a standalone service
