Vox Pure DSL

I will be ordering mine this afternoon. I assume I will still be able to use my isp I am using for gaming as my vox latency to EU is not so hot.

Quoting from the site: " Yes, but your existing service will need to be cancelled with Telkom and your ISP. Pure Connect is a new product offered from Openserve. Both the ADSL and Analogue line services will need to be cancelled. "

That is not referring to data, and I am pretty sure naked dsl lets you dial pppoe.

Yes you can dail pppoe, i have telkom naked vdsl.

Do you know a way I can find out how far I am from the closest exchange? I don't have VDSL modulation set up so I can't accurately tell through the router stats.

You drive around in area until find the blue box with white box next to it.

That's the easiest way lol

I see Vox has done away with FatPipe DSL data accounts completely in favour of their Pure DSL packages.

I want to switch to them but there's a couple of aspects stopping me.

1. My DSL line is currently with Afrihost, and I have an active Telkom Voice line in use. I want to port the Voice line to Axxess VOIP and then get the Vox Pure DSL, but that would mean I'd likely have to completely cancel my DSL line before I can port the number.

2. Vox is famous for annual price increases for existing clients and we're already half way through the year. So in all likelihood, their prices will be going up by 6-10% year on year, and an ADSL line is not as easy to migrate to another ISP as a simple data account.

It might be best to wait for Afrihost or Axxess to offer similar packages if annual price increases aren't your thing.

R575 for 10Mbps is the same as RSAwebs 10Mbps symmetric fibre on Octotel...
