Vox - stupid slow GitHub / AWS EC2 / S3 speeds

Look at how slow EC2 is and the ping is horrible. Can anyone else run a test now?

I am also on Vox and can confirm that I had a download from s3 us-east last night for about 56 mb which took over an hour, this morning less than 30 seconds. I wonder though if the same kind of performance will happen for the AWS Cape Town region. Anybody have a link to a file to test the download speed with?
