Vox Telecom Cancellation Nightmare

Let me tell you about my experience with VOX. I haven't had a single issue with them at all. When I signed up with them, they offered free installation and activation (provided I stay with them for 12 months, should I cancel before then, I would be charged the full installation, very reasonable; and the full installation was 2733 I believe). Unfortunately, I had to cancel my previous fibre line because my landlady sold her house so the new tenant was moving in with his family. Cancellation went perfectly and I even requested an R911 payment plan for three months which they approved. And now I am left with only paying R911 for Jan and sorted. They even allowed me to place another order at my current place where I am staying now and my new fibre line was activated, up and running in less than 5 days. I decided to stick with them because customer support has always been fantastic and ping and speeds have been consistent and really good. (according to my experience)...

I am on VOX Vumatel, so mileage may vary but the costs they charged you sound about right. For me, they never forced me to take their router but hey it is free and for 99 per cent of users, it works perfectly. no need for anything else. I also wanted the peace and ease of mind knowing they will give me a router capable of holding 1gbps speeds, which this Microtik does easily. So I would suggest looking at the terms of your contract before signing up with any ISP, for me cancellation fees and charges were explained to me clearly before even signing up and i knew what i was getting myself into.

Yes I be happy to pay R2733, but the issue is I already paid R1725 3 years ago! They said the cost already lock and drop the phone when I tried to explain the account manager. Said he cannot do anything. If I left the line till Contact end, the cost will be R1300 and not R2733. I requested a quote and I agreed on activation fee(R1008) and 1 month notice. They charged me 1 month notice + full installation cost and don't bother checking on the matter.

Ummm that does not sound right...

After 7 calls and 3 weeks, they acknowledge that they made a mistake with the charges. Now I wait for the Account department to credit my account and then can request a refund.

I moved into a new home and applied for fibre from Vox since they were my ISP at my previous house. I get told that there is no fibre line in my street. I send them a photo of the frog foot manhole on the pavement. They say it's not active. I tell them my new neighbour 4 houses up the street has fibre... with Vox. Their response? "Uhm we can't comment about that"...

I check with Vodacom and they ping my street and say that Frogfoot is available and I am ready for installation. Now, from most accounts Vodacom FTTH is poor. But honestly Vox is not much better at present.

Who to go with?

Websquad. Send them a mail, you'll have internet before Vox even wakes up from their December slumber.

Thanks for the info. I will give them a go tomorrow. Maybe I'm lucky and manage to have internet before February. Vox are adamant I need to wait at least 10 weeks.

takes 6 weeks for installation to take place and 1 week to activate. Without installation no ISP can activate you. Vox not that bad, I am still waiting for a refund from them. They reopen 4th but some people returning 11 Jan. Applying now on Vox is useless, most people that helping have no clue at all. All they do is enter values on the system and give feedback on it. Wait till 11 Jan and then ask them to check frogfoot if they live again and thing will go quick from there.

Someone else. Check the list of top ISPs.
I want to drop Vox once my installation period has wound down. 5 months to go. Frogfoot have been horrific.
I'd rather pay a bit more for Vumatel and someone else...

Finally got the credit note on my statement, now I made a request for refund to my bank account.

Still waiting for refund.
Today they told me they have not received the router and the router was delivered on 25 January. I have emailed them details of delivery and was promised refund on the 12 February 2021.

Tell them to hurry the hell up, otherwise it's HelloPeter for them!

Finally got my refund. R1725.

On Monday the 22nd Feb 2021, I requested feedback since was promised a refund on the 12th February; I was told that the refund ticket was close by the Router department, it said they acknowledge the router was received and closed the refund ticket. They had to reopen it and update the banking details again. Just happy its resolved.
13 calls(1 hour 22mins) and 7 emails in total.

I am STILL waiting for those absolute bunch of incompetent morons at either Frogfoot or Vox to respond to my multiple requests for service.

They just don't give a ....

sadly, I am saddled with only Frogfoot having laid a fibre line out in the street, and now I am waiting for these twat-waffles to pull the plug they've shoved so deep up their bums to actually do some work. I get that I live in a new residential area, and that FF have only lain the cable mid-Feb, but since then, I have made numerous calls and emails to seemingly unattended email addresses.

2 weekends ago the bloke across the street from me moved in. 5 days later he got fibre installed.

Just WOW. I send Vox a email again telling them how kuk they are in comparison, and lo and behold they respnd with a message telling me they've (wait for it) Whatsapp'd FrogFoot...go figure...what the actual F?

Still, no further joy. If I had a lighter and a can of petrol right now....

So here it is. I challenge either Vox or Frogfoot to respond to this message and prove me wrong. Just once, actually do the right thing and prove to the world you're not so kuk as you seem right about now.

How the F FF managed to get the #1 Fibre Award is beyond me. Someone got a gobble...

Try literally any other ISP. Afrihost has been good thus far, unless you need support...

Hi there, sorry to hear that you have been struggling with your Fibre. Could you please provide us with your FRG number so that we can assist you?
