Vox Telecom for sale

This is not only a sale, it smells like an exit strategy, this is complete acquisition...

Exit strategy from there investors the company is not doing well (inside information). If the investors were making money they would not want to exit, however on the other hand if they see no future for the business then they would be wanting to exit. Voxtelecom still have lots of LCR which is hurting their business due to low interconnect rates.

The telecoms industry as a whole is under a lot of pressure.
Between declining ARPU's, margin squeeze from lower interconnect rates and an ever increasing payroll there's very little fat left to survive on.
Nashua Mobile just made their exit and I wouldn't be surprised if Autopage and CellC are next on the chopping block.

Someone I spoke to who was in the telecoms industry for many years has kept telling me that there is only space for about two fixed line telecoms players in South Africa. I'm starting to believe him now.
The same probably holds true for GSM.

Tough times for the shareholders i guess. One doesn't simply just let go

I just hope who ever takes it over, doesn't change the pricing structure or removes the Uncapped bolt on package.

They had to de-list Voxtelecom because of the massive fraud with the shares (Dealstream), One does not advertise a business for sale if you are not desperate, you go to the big buys and do a deal, when you openly advertise you are desperate.

Wow, you really do talk a lot of nonsense Urbanet. Seems you like slating Vox. I suggest using an alternative username, as you come across as very unprofessional, and even bitter.

Domains.co.za hit the nail on the head. Also, does anyone here understand the requirements for being on listed on the JSE? It's expensive. Hellishly so. The regulatory requirements are extremely stiff and time consuming to ensure compliance. Plus, the share price of Vox was not reflecting the true value of the company. It barely moved since listing. I personally believe it's due to the number of technology firms that were listed. It was a smart move to delist.

Vox Telecom are still profitable, they have not retrenched any staff (even though many other operators have) and their product offering is growing. In fact, Vox are hiring many new people. Does that sound like a failing company?

Their shareholders are banks and a fund management company, they have delisted VOX off the JSE, turned it around and now its time to sell their investment and reap the benefits.

Yah, but there are two sides to an exit strategy, either way another entity (or entities) must proceed as 100% acquisition is put on the table. As you said, it is time to sell the investment and reap the award, but are this them withdrawing on conclusion that it is not worth the cost to continue involvement as they reached their achievement, can another entity (or entities) continue on the same level?

"Jacques would not miss an opportunity to hear himself talk"....yussus...tears streaming down my face...

MaryJane, they were listed on ALTX, the fees are negligible. If you followed the history, Vox were never worried about compliance, which was indicative of the Dealstream failure.
