LAUGH IT OFF PRINCESS - not to be taken seriously
Can someone please help, from another ISP, or something to get a new service. Because this is the SCHITT I have to deal with and tomorrow is the 25th, I have salaries to pay. These masepoeste don't care

There is NO international bandwidth again... Local is fine. Trying to log a ticket with these IDIOTS gives me this:

Speedtest, I MEAN FOR ****'S SAKES THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FSCKING FIBER LINE

So the plan is to get another FTTH line installed to ensure there's no downtime and then tell Vox Telecom to go fsck themselves

So WebsquadZA, here is your chance, PM me if you can help. How quickly can we install another line at the premises?
Others: can someone tell me WHAT THE EFFING HELL IS WRONG NOW AGAIN IN CAPE TOWN please I'd appreciate it.

Who is your FNO again? I think only Openserve can have a second line active at a premises at the same time that another is live

There is an issue with the Equaino cable for the last 45 or so mins so that might be what is causing your issues

Octotel in Cape Town.

The issue started around 7:30pm when we discovered that Bitwarden is dead and we couldn't get into any of our passwords.
Then fast-forward to now and I see bugger-all works that is international and doesn't use CDNs, so stuff like overseas forums etc don't load, they sit and spin endlessly in the browser

The issue on CISP might be carrier related no Equiano cable related.

Is this what happens when people can't view posts on X?
No this is what happens when I can't get into my password manager to pay accounts, and salaries, and when I cannot engage with people overseas whom I am doing business with

EDIT: can't get into the cloud storage either. So I may as well just go to bed and try and get the LTE router out tomorrow and pay a boat load for data.

Ah ok, was described as Equaino but I possibly missed something

Yeah I think CISP has a layer 2 from CPT to London with WIOCC over Equaino. It could be a carrier issue or some sort of layer 1 fault between Lisbon <> London.

Liquid Telecoms from CPT to Lisbon is pretty good and very reliable actually but nothing much happening in Lisbon traffic wise.

If any of you are on Openserve and want a temp account to buy some time let me know.

Big ISP support is a trap :p

"Big ISPs also provide customers with cheap Wi-Fi routers, don’t publish information about fibre network outages, and don’t build and operate their own networks."

I found this article to be quite distasteful to be honest, you have put a massive stereotype on all big ISP's.

I will use Cool Ideas here their support is good from when i have had to use it, they got Vumatel to come fix my line on a Saturday morning after i logged a ticket at 5pm on a Friday after stupid plumbers destroyed my fibre cable. I have never spoken to a "bot", the router they supplied me with was adequate and from what i know they operate their own network... You can ask them for a route change and often they will try accommodate you if they can, versus smaller ISP's who tend to use the likes of Workonline/Network Platforms/Echo/Liquid and whenever something like routing is screwed they hit you with "we can't make changes" or "the latency is adequate". Also don't have a problem with big guys using wholesalers because it can sometimes be cheaper and also it allows them to turn up capacity faster if needed - also allows for when breaks to happen for them to switch to other cable systems fasters when your smaller ISP does not have capacity or makes you run limp during peak...

While i have heard a few good things about you guys i wouldn't be rubbing up big ISP's badly, yes some of them are terrible but a lot of them are really decent as well, everyone's experience can be different.
