Vox Telecom launches videoconferencing service

I have not seen the Vox Telecom Eyeris solution yet, but I must say that the Cisco TelePresence product is excellent. Obviously aimed at the high-end corporate market, but well worth it to check it out if you get a chance.

I dont understand the fishbone product or this new video conferencing solution.
Low cost video conferencing (and indeed this product) is nothing new , and Vox is banking on the fact that clients need to utilize local bandwidth and local networks for speed and quality reasons rather than using expensive and unreliable international bandwidth.
With seacom here , none of this is going to matter in a couple of months , because businesses will be indifferent between routing data locally and internationally. Furthermore , businesses will look to an established player when international costs are negated such as Sony for instance - and , bonding ADSL lines won't make much sense anymore , because international through fibre will be relatively cheap...
Can anyone see viability here? Maybe theres something I'm missing...

Yes you are missing something. The last mile.
It's not international connectivity that is the issue when supplying broadband to you, it's getting more than 4meg/s (possibly 8meg/s with ADSL2+) into your business/house. The same last mile bottleneck will exist with Seacom as with SAT3 and Fishbone seems to address that.
