Hey guys (and gals)
I wanna get a VPN sorted out at work so "DA BOSS" can connect via 3G to the Server at work via remote desktop(terminal services). Been trying to read up about it but not having much luck :confused:

Anybody wanna give me a hand. went to www.realvnc.com and www.noip.com and got their software but just cant get my head around all of this. I think im on the wrong track.

Help please........

I use www.logmein.com and also hamachi from the same company. I can control my home pc on Iburst from my work pc on ADSL and it works great. I use the free option. You can use the free option or subscribe.

I recomend logmein and it is easy to use

You dont need to establish a VPN connection in-order to run Remote Desktop. Configure the server to allow Remote Desktop connections (port 3389). Port redirect (in your router) port 3389 to the server ip address (ie : 3389>192.168.0.1). Determine the WAN (Internet IP) address and start>run>mstsc>wan ip>login>work. ;)

Thanks guys for your feedback.
I came right with www.no-ip.com
uses the same concept as www.logmein.com

@dabouncer
only problem with that is the ip will always change.

a big thing i have is security. dont want some hacker messing up all my hardwork. Will humachi make a nice barrier between me and the internet?

So make a dyndns account, or use no-ip, same thing. The only way someone can get in is if you make it easy for them to get in. Dont open unnecessary ports and dont make your administrator password something like "admin".

OK COOL!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!
