Simple question; does using a VPN service still allow the streaming of Video on LIT to be part of the promo data (50gb) or does something happen via the VPN that makes the network not recognise it?

A VPN hides your traffic within an encrypted tunnel. So no you will lose the benefit as thy can't identify your traffic in the tunnel

Isn't that the issue though? They can't identify if it's YouTube.
