VPN - Passthrough

Hi , has anyone setup vpn passthrough on the Huawei B315 router. Some site specification on the router says it does support vpn passthrough.
Planning to setup a dd-wrt behind that for the vpn and use the B315 as the main router only to pass it through on 4G connection.

You don't need to do anything in default router configuration. It is a gateway function of the router to do deep packet inspection for PPTP packets, also deploying IPsec NAT traversal techniques as stipulated in various RFC documents. Thanks sajunky so if I understand correctly what you are saying the B315 router will natively support and passthrough vpn traffic if I have a dd-wrt router behind that handling the encryption etc.

Correct. The only question is how many VPN sessions are supported, it is not stated in the specs. If you run more sessions simultaneously than one, you may hit a limit.

If you do more routing on dd-wrt, it may be worth to put dd-wrt IP in Huawei DMZ. It is easier to manage all routing in one place. I am not sure it it would help to increase number of outgoing VPN session though.
