On Wednesday Sept 6, the MTNVPN apn, was disabled by MTN without notice to clients. It is now more than a week later, and after being told they are going to fix the problem many times, they have not. No-one seems to give a straight answer - changes daily. Latest is that on my contract tough luck, can't have it any more.
I have another colleague with same problem - he even had his contract converted or something, but it still does not work.
Great way to chase away all business people who will be the main users of VPN. Never experienced such hopeless service, not even from traffic, municipality or home affairs. MTN have reached a new level of non-service.
Before you buy that laptop / MTN 3G combination and think you can just connect to anything, including your office, think again. No longer.

Good day,

MTN discontinued these service’s due to the fact that Prepaid and Hybrid MYCHOICE TOP UP packages were not being charged for the service, and was put to a stop, a business call was made to say that all subscribers wanting access to this APN would have to have to subscribe to this service.

The one thing I do need to apologize for is that it was done with no notice that I believe was wrong, Malcolm I believe I’ve tried to give you the best answer possible. Could you please PM me wth your colleagues number as if it was converted to contract then it should work but I’ll check that for you.

MTNDD

Great disappointment!
This cost me ten's of rands in telephone costs to resolve support issues where I could have done this remotely via VPN connection.
It's all about the money, not the service.
You should see how they grind THEIR suppliers for service.......

Good day,

As per your PM it looks like this has been sorted out now?

Please advise if you're still experiencing problems

Thanks MTNDD
