VPS beta testers required - Latest AMD EPYC 4004 CPU's

We're excited about the arrival of our latest AMD EPYC order which boasts the latest generation AMD EPYC 4004 CPU's, specifically the 4484PX CPU's.

This particular build consists of a SuperMicro MicroCloud fitted with 8 nodes in a 3U chassis, each node configured with the following :
4.4GHZ AMD EPYC 4484PX - 12 core 24 thread 4.4GHZ CPU with boost up to 5.6GHZ
192 GB ECC Registered DDR5 5600 Memory
2 x 3.8TB Samsung Enterprise NVMe drives


These new AMD EPYC 4004 CPU's boast AMD Ryzen performance with core speeds boosting up to 5.6 GHz how ever these include the features and support that enterprises have grown to love from AMD, including enterprise support, ECC Memory and OS Validation.

This SuperMicro MicroCloud 3015MR-H8TNR chassis includes Redundant 80+ Titanium Level 2200W PSU's along with SuperMicro's new IPMI which provides for easy remote management for each node.

So enough of about the system and more about the beta test

We're looking for fellow mybb members to jump on board and test out the performance of these new servers and provide us with feedback, benchmarks and suggestions about what you love, what is missing and could be added to the offering.

In addition to the standard VPS offering, we will be adding HA as an option which will allow us to test a new HA environment optimal redundancy and we'll need your assistance with load on the servers during this testing.

We're in discussion with our partners to bring the latest generation HA solutions and this beta test will help us make the right decisions

Requirements for beta testing are that you have an active account with Absolute Hosting which is in good standing, or have previously participated in one of our beta's or have an account on MYBB that is a few months old with good rep.

Those who participate and provide us with valuable feedback can expect awesome discounts on future VPS offerings - our way of saying thank you for sacrificing your time.

We bought a bunch of these microclouds for some stuff, the suck thing that they don't tell you on the supermicro spec sheet is that if you do decide to populate all 4 DIMM slots, the DDR5 RAM speed drops from 5600 MT/s down to 3600 MT/s - we discovered this after browsing through their user manual (page 40 for reference).

Yeah I was chatting with SMC about this yesterday. The motherboard manual is misleading as it initially says up to X and then later on mentions the slower speeds when fully populated.

Up to 128GB of ECC and non-ECC DDR5 UDIMM memory with speeds of 5200 MT/sin four DIMM slots

Nice find, hopefully SMC will have them on their "approved memory list" soon so these microclouds can be ordered stock with them.

I doubt these will be supported unless AMD plans to add RDIMM support to the platform.
