VS 2008 SP1

Just a cautionary note.

If you are thinking of installing VS 2008 SP1, be aware that it will take forever installing! I have been waiting for just over an hour now and it is still busy!

Luckely it installs .Net 3.5 SP1 also, so I don't have to wait for that aswell.

I just wish that it can finish so that I can continue working as I am in limbo at the moment.
 
75% with the download. I had to slow the download a bit (IT dude wants to kill me)

Thanks for the heads up. How interactive is the installer? Can I start it this afternoon and go home or do I have to babysit it and say "yes" every 30 minutes? :)
 
Even with the slow installation I welcome the classic ASP markup being put back in. Got a little wonky not having any markup for good ol' classic ASP when you need to maintain older applications

Also loving the more intelligent javascript intellisense

I had the same problem this morning - an hour and 45 minutes!!

Just happy its over :) must of had about 4/5 cups of coffee during the wait
 
I'm still waiting for the day that you open the service pack and it does absolutely everything for you.
 
I saw it somewhere locally. Now unfortunately my browser history doesn't tell me exactly what resides where...
 
so when was this released ?

-i'll check it out on monday :)
 
must have missed it with my project going release hehe

Pleasure :) I only saw your plea for help yesterday night...In future a PM with a link to a thread/post can set the uploading in motion much faster. ;)

dablakmark8 raised a valid point though. This file is huge - is it the correct thing in the first place? This is the only file I could find on the M$ site that was VB SP1. All the others were +-800KB installers. Should be the correct thing then imo.

The smaller files are the download-as-you-install ones ...
