Vumatel and DDNS

Hello, I have an issue where my DDNS stopped working after a new ONT was put in. Last week.

Noip and tplinkdns give the same IP address however, it is not the wan address of the router. No IP allows you to bind to the WAN ip of the router but this only resolves in the house where where it is not needed. The moment I am traveling, the same public IP fails.

As a result, cannot access my fish tank or cameras.

Is there something I am missing and is there anyone else seeing something similar with a solution to resolve.

Have the Aerial fiber which means our ISP cannot issue a static IP either.

I believe you might be under CG-NAT.

Whos is your ISP?

You might wanna look into a VPN such as tailscale or wireguard or setup cloudflare tunnnels

Highly recommend you go the tailscale route, if you're home you can keep the VPN on and it routes it directly. I use it for home assistant, and streaming/access services on my NAS.

We're thrilled that solution worked out for you, typically wouldn't be necessary but unfortunately the IPv4 pool is running dry.
