Hi Guys,

Could anyone explain the fibre process for Vumatel please? Ihave already had the duct run through the ground and now not sure what happens from here?

The booklet they provide gives a high level view of what to expect but not much as per the extract from the booklet which can be found on

https://vumatel.co.za/journey

It would be great if they could update their manual to provide some sort of timelines which would just manage expectations better.

Has someone who had trenched fibre in their area please share their experience and how long it took till they were up and running?

You apply online https://shop.vumatel.co.za order your line. They then call and schedule the internal build. From there you choose an ISP? Is it aerial or Trenched?

Hi @PBCool,

This is trenched fibre. Do they have to wait for the entire area to go live first? The last i seen the technicians running the duct to the box that stands on the pavement. They said that the last part is for them to come and do some installation to the box on the wall. Not sure what they meant.

ya its something like that - need them to go live in the area first.

if you register on Vumatel it will tell you if your area is live or still in progress

Yeah if the area isnt live as yet they won't take any in house installs as they splice and test the link at the same time :).
