Hi guys

I'm looking to upgrade to Fibre. I'm located in Melville, and it seems Vumatel is my only option at this point. So I'm hoping you smart cookies can recommend me a good ISP.

Please take into consideration:
- I need to keep the total cost (including VOIP) below R700 to convince my mom to get it. ;)
- My max internet usage is about 300GB. Uncapped is ideal, but if there's a good truly unthrottled and unshaped capped option at this level which is cheap - I'll take that.
- I would like to get a VOIP service to replace my normal landline. We mostly use it about an hour a day for incoming calls from a Telkom service.
- My chief use will be torrents, possibly usenet. Downloads.

If you have any other good advice for my "Fibre journey" please give. :D

We do the 20/2 for R799 and are going to drop our extension fee for unlimited data use.

How old are you? :erm:

So I also recently saw a promotion by iconnect which will do a 10mb/s service for R699 with their VOIP app... would CISP 4mb/s plus a VOIP service be better than that?

The 10Mbps wouldn't be on Vumatel, there is no 10Mbps option.

On that very site, if you select iConnect Telecoms - it will list it under 20/2, but the actual package specifies 10/2? I realize they may just be offering a 10/2 service on a 20/2 line but the key point is I need something within my budget and this package seems to be best. Do you know what their service is like?

Well, I appreciate the solutions to a separate problem. If any one has any suggestions which fit in the constraints, please feel free to give, otherwise I'll consider this topic solved.
