Anyone else in the northern suburbs of Cape Town with a flashing blue light on the Raycore device (vumatel trenched) ?

Started yesterday, still flashing today.

Everything else seems fine in terms of internet access, stability and speed of the connection

In case anyone come across this in the future; logged a ticket with IPS this morning and Vumatel sent two technicians a few hours later.

As said earlier my internet was still working but oddly according to Vumatel my link was down. Before looking at the raycore device the technicians asked if I am using an UPS device and if it is modified sine wave (I am using a Mercer modified sine wave UPS to power the Raycore device and an access point). The main router is connected to a (significantly more expensive) pure sine wave UPS along with my NAS, TV,PS4, etc.

In any event, turns out the AC adapter supplied with the Raycore device does not like the modified sine wave UPS, a quick swop of the AC adaptor solved the issue. Apparently they are replacing these rather frequently and in most cases on installations where a modified sine wave inverter is being used (not sure how true / scientific this is, but they seem pretty convinced that this is the issue)

Interesting, thanks!

BTW, you should look at a DC UPS (aka micro UPS) for powering your raycore and access point, see:
