Vumatel under fire for network problems

Vumatel is facing severe criticism for its poor network quality, prolonged outages, and lack of support while its prices are much higher than other fibre network operators.

MyBroadband has received information from prominent Internet service providers (ISPs) that Vumatel’s network quality is deteriorating.

No wonder they taking so long to lay fibre in our area and we fall under Vuma ... what I complete waste of time

vumatel not like volvo but vumatel a lot like swede roads

My ping to ea servers in eu went up by 10 ms since the last few months.

I really hate vumatel

They should remove their fibre from Goodwood as their prices are exhorbitant.
All the inconvenience was a waste.

There are good LTE options so I don't know what model they have as Goodwood mainly have pensioners.

I've had great service from Vuma, logged a ticket for a Fibre break and it was repaired in under 24 hours, with a follow up call to check all is ok

What tends to happen when the financial fundamentals of a company starts to go wrong, is the executives sell out. The new buyers realise too late what they bought, so they don't invest quickly enough to fix it. Then the good managers start to leave and then things start to fall apart.

Between frogfoot and vumatel they take the cake for appalling service, in general. Vumatel just closes tickets without feedback and frogfoot doesn't even reply. (got 5 frogfoot tickets open for longer than 4 months).

Vumatel and frogfoot uptime is worse than ADSL. No issues with OpenServe in the last 2 years.

When are we getting some news of Frogfoot? They are the worst of the worst.

Okay - first off I do feel MyBroadband is only writing the negative news around Vumatel. Where is the in-depth article on the 10Gbps option.

As for service - would like to see some more statistics around it - maybe an in-depth survey?

Vumatel respliced my line 3 hours after logging an incident. During work in our complex replacing water mains, Vumatel was on standby fixing cuts within hours after the plumbing contractors cut the line (3x incidents). Vumatel helped a friend within hours after construction on his property exposed a fibre line. So my personal experience and the cases I know about doesn't gel with what is reported. So is it a Cape Town vs Joburg thing? How does the increase in complaints align with the growth in subscribers?

I used to tear my hair out when dealing with Telkom ADSL and my Vumatel experience has been the polar opposite of it... So would like to know the real statistics behind the claims in the article.

never had an issue with Vumatel -- solid and reliable --but this whole getting rid of lower end packages and pushing me a package with higher upload speeds, that I do not need...knowing how monopolies operate, you really think this will be the only time they will do this crap? as the financial squeeze increases, guess who will be paying for it ...all because they can not manage their finances, not our problem.

Agree, I used to wait at least a week for Telkom to fix ADSL faults, Vumatel CPT has always been within 24 hours.
