Vumatel/Vodacom - No urgency here

Hi all

This is a last resort post, as we are all at the end of our tether with Vodacom & Vumatel.

I am an IT technician, and have been asked to assist a client who has no internet.

I have stated the situation is urgent, as they work from home, and a daughter has gone on to miss vital deadlines due to lack of internet connectivity. In the mean time they are depending on Mobile Data, and as a family of 5 - it's costing them an absolute fortune.

This has been going on for over a week. The internet issue was reported last week Saturday, the client got a ticket Sunday, and despite numerous attempts to reach out to Vodacom, and promises for the matter to be escalated, they are still waiting for their internet to be restored.

Vodacom's answer to a request to have the matter looked into was essentially "we have the reference number, it's active, so please be patient."

I am absolutely dismayed with the lack of urgency, and disregard seen by both Vodacom, and Vumatel, to have this resolved in a timely manner.

I will provide the reference numbers should someone respond who can assist me.

Lastly, as an IT technician, I will be telling any new, or existing clients who are looking at reliably fiber options, to avoid Vodacom citing the lack of urgency.

This is clearly unacceptable, and I want this issue sorted ASAP.
