Hi,

I am currently looking at fibre for home but I'm quite clueless as to what to go for. Openserve has already laid fibre in my area and now Vumatel is busy with their rollout but which do I go for? Instinct tells me vuma is probably the one to choose but are there real pros/cons to consider? A vuma rep has mentioned to me that they would be installing street cameras in the area as well and that is quite appealing to me. Also, what ISPs are recommended? I'm not even sure of packages on offer but I'd guess 20-50mbit depending on the deals going. I'd also be looking at 200-300GB p/m. Do uncapped fibre packages also come shaped/unshaped in the way ADSL data packages do?

Apologies for all the entry level questions but as I mentioned I'm brand new to the fibre game.

Vumatel exceeds telkom by orders of magnitude... Cheaper, faster, and no IPC involved so no shaping and crap like that.

ISPs - Crystal Web or Cool Ideas.

Im on Vumatel and crystalweb ISP not a heavy user my GF is though and when she comes over she goes through about 300GB a day. can highly recommend them on the vumatel network. i mostly use them my self to stream gameplay to youtube. always somthing i wanted to do its fun :)

Thanks guys, the choice seems quite clear.
