This will go on and on. I just wanted to make it clear to international visitors who'll find this thread that 90% of the people complaining here have never even attended a local soccer match.
So I wouldn't take the poll results too seriously.

Absolute rubbish. You have no way of knowing that. The few local games I have attended have been irritating only because of the damn vuvuzelas.

Heck, even when United came to Newlands to play Pirates, I had some kid nearly deafen me with one sitting right next to me.

The overseas people should be worried. It is as awful and unnecessary as it sounds on TV and it has NOTHING to do with African tradition.

i like intense atmosphere and thats why south american and italian football is the best. The difference is that while is load its music to the ears.Sorry but these trumpets just create noise , and is hence annoying

I find rock music annoying, yet I know a lot of my friends love it. I dont understand how they could though, some crazy mask wearing dudes jumping around and screaming the whole time.
Give me hip-hop(rap) music anyday.

Honestly? Every single thread about local soccer I have started here has gotten almost ZERO response from the myBB members. What does that tell you?

Say what? I am talking about when I have been at the stadium. Why do you think I don't go any more?

Well in Cape Town you can't expect 'atmosphere' with less than 5000 fans attending games there. Maybe you should attend a 50000+ fans game like Chiefs-Pirates to understand.

That they don't attend the games cos of the damn Vuvuzelas! Which have been around for a very short time! ;)

LOL. Yeah, and before 2000 when the Vuvuzela was 'invented' there was no atmosphere in those games either

Honestly a 'unique' experience is being offered to our friends on the other side of the Mediterrenean.

They dont attend game because they have no interest in local soccer. You dont have to attend games to have an interest in them. I mean I've never attended a Liverpool game.

Simple fact is not many have on this forum has any interest in local soccer. Its only EPL, Chanmpions league and La Liga here. Although it looks like Supesta and Genius is gone now, so that leaves us with only EPL, and the odd Serie-A post from Stefan.

Despite not having any interest in local soccer they have the audacity to tell local soccer fas how they should behave at the games.

Why was there no complains about vuvuzela's here before the confed cup started? Because nobody gave a damn thats why.

I would just like to state for all those international visitors, that this guy ^^^ is talking ****. He has no idea about the forumites and sucked those figures out of his ass.

Again fern9do - start working with facts and not BS assumptions, please...

Hmm. So you attend the matches you just dont like talking about it. Aaah I see ;)

No man! The footy is rubbish and the damn VUVUZELAS are damn annoying! :p But that does not mean I have never been to one and don't know what they sound like 'live' ;)

At one point the football subforum became unbearable and a daily flame war fest zone.

Cool. I 'll stop now. Can see I'm pissing people off.

Lets just hope this concern with the local game will still be there once the confed cup is over.

I local soccer thread or two next season would be nice :)

If so many of you attend games why are there no local soccer threads here DJ?

Because the football section is rampant with hooligans these days. See me commenting in any Man U threads as well lately? It's a pathetic part of the forum now that the 2/3 inebriates run around with their school-yard antics...
