Well I am sorry if your argument is not clear. So you are saying that the noise is crap and you hate it, but we cannot judge as it is some kind of African tradition or custom?

hj2k_x, let's make a decision here and now to not respond to each other's post on MyBB. I am not really interested in your games. My argument is perfectly clear to someone capable of reading.

+1

I find the Euro games singing annoying but I don't complain about it.

I've been to a number of PSL games and here I am, with my hearing still intact(According to the occupational health practitioner who tests my hearing every year).

bsst BSSSssssTTTTSSSSS bvvvssSStttsss VVVVvuuuzzzelllaaa :D

not so hard to blow one, i thought at first it would be like the trumpet i used to have, but bit differant.

That's my view. With all I have said above I have failed to mention that I am not a huge fan of the vuvuzela myself, but who am i to dictate how other people enjoy showing their support and enthusiasm.

Who are they to annoy, by making a pointless racket, fellow fans who just want to watch the game ?

I fk'ng hate it.

2 things why I don't watch SA Soccer:

1. The Vuvuzelas
2. The commentary

Why the FK would I want to watch a game where 2/3's of the time they talk a language I can't understand? Do it in english. Or don't do it at all.

Same with anything else on TV. If it's sport atleast cater for all, don't do it in Afrikaans or any other language unless you have a choice to choose like on DSTV. Just keep it English if there is no damn choice ...

I fk'ng hate SABC so much /cry

With that kind of attitude, its a good thing you dont follow local soccer. Not all people understand english, what about them?

Watched IDesk on CNN sport brief... no mention of the vuvuzela just praises about the tournament and looking forward to the World cup... so like I originally stated those complaining are an uptight minority.

That is not true. And using one report from CNN on which to base your conclusion, borders on the ridiculous.

The tournament was a great success, yes. It was, despite the Vuvuzela, not because of it.

The vuvuzela is annoying even I admitted this but it really does not spoil the game unless you let it.

Hehe. I don't think we will ever agree about this.

One or two is fine. That even adds to the atmosphere. But 10 or 20 000 is just ridiculous.

They sucked; then that 'nation that sticks swords into bulls in a ring and calls it a sport' complained about them, so now i don't mind them.

The things is that even we like them or hate them, the thousands of visitors from abroad are still going to buy them and bring them to matches. Like the Confederations Cup with just handful of foreign visitors who bought the vuvuzela, the world cup with its 400,000 visitors are also likely to embrace the vuvu.

Yes, what about them ?

You will see I said the same about rugby, not all people understand Afrikaans. There is a reason you have choice on DSTV. SABC could atleast then have it shown on 2 channels, one with English and the other in some scrabble language .They might as well then just broadcast the games in French

Majority of people watching soccer on SABC1 don't understand English.
They are also putting up with the 10 mins of the scrabble language called English.
It's a give and take situation. And personally I would rather listen to 'ZZ' Zama Masondo going "LADUUUUUUMA" than the local English commentary(except for Mark Gleeson).
The English commentary on DSTV was great for the Confed cup. Ussually I can't stand those guys. Maybe it's because England was not there and they could not posibly be biased.

I didnt mind the vuvuzela before but after all this hype i listened to its sound closely on t.v and must admit its a bit irritating but its what the people want. Good visitors dont come into your home and demand of you to make changes. and south african supporters are so fickle now suddenly all these people want to support Bafana!
