Aqua_Lung - the stadiums are soooo full that FIFA are giving away tickets. i.e. the tickets are now free for most games - just to gets seats on bums.

Got nothing to do with the vuvuzela dude, more the prices of the tickets, and whether anybody wants to watch those games or not. And its not as though South Africans have money burning their pockets these days.

would you pay R70 to see IRAQ take on New Zealand ? :D

Commentator on SS3 mentioned the vuvuzela and said it creates a racket but adds to the great atmosphere :p

I disagree. I, and a bunch of mates will not attend the matches because of the racket. Ergo, it does have something to do with them...

Same situation here. Gonna watch the SA game tonight at a pub. The noise will clearly be an issue there as well but it's not like I would pay to go and see the game otherwise.

I'll be honest though.. watching esp vs irq... trying to just listen to the game is difficult, the vuvuzelas do get in the way.

but if I watch the game it adds to the atmosphere.

Ladies and germs, I present to you our first convert.

Sox, you're up next...:D

not a convert yet :D just turned down my sound and I can tolerate it
my vote still stands as "They dont really bother me" ... that much. :D

LOL. This debate is getting alot of media attention. Fifa already banned them once. I doubt they'll do it again. Goal.com's World Cup Editor seems to like them, and so does the English commentator on Supersport,

You seriously think the FIFA commentators are gonna dis the vuvuzela on live TV in front of the entire world?

No.

As part of tonights programme at 7pm, on Metro FM Robert Marawa will be debating the use of the Vuvuzela at FIFA events as he had received emails complaining about them.

If you want the frequency in your area check it out on their website. Its channel 181 on the audio bouquet on DSTV.

Sweet thanks..

This'll be fun..

At todays game here in Bloem, Ill tell you that vuvuzelas sound better when you are at the stadium then when you watch on tv! But bloem actually had something going besides the other games I have seen on tv (Thanks to the celtics supporters). We not only had blaring vuvuzelas, but mexican waves, some celtics songs (which it took an entire half to get right) and some celtics dances. Siwelelelelele.... :D

Just watching the pre-game stuff on SS3 and guess what they talking about? The vuvuzela.

And as Udo said, when in Rome, do like the romans

Thats what I was trying to say this morning. 90% of people who complain about have never even been to a local soccer match. Now they want fans to change to suite them.

It's a lot better when you actually attend matches guys. The atmosphere is amazing. It's not just about blowing the thing for 90 minutes. At the Ajax games theres even a band, and I know the Bloem Celtic fans are always singing and dancing.

Go to the stadium, experience the atmosphere before complaining.

When in Rome...

Yea, go and actually experience it at the stadium and then maybe you will see that it isnt so bad after all. It adds to the experience, specially when a spaniard goes down and the stadium is all blowing at the iraqi hoping that he will be sent off :D

Africa has no musical talent. Blowing one note continuously on a vuvuzela doesn't count as musical entertainment.
