Kinda why I'm asking.

Its gonna be slow realistically given its green/blue credentials but I'm told the previous gen was just a tad too slow to be bearable even by patient people.

Realistically, it gets to 120km/h quick enough, but pushing it over that sort of moots the whole argument on why you want a BM in the first place. You don't buy a car like this for performance. The low-end torque is great for city driving (unless you miss the gear), but highway driving at 120km/h is comfortable you still have enough for overtaking.

The company I work for has a fleet of Polo Blue Motions. Yes nice fuel economy, but the lack of power is an incredible bummer. It frustrated me to no end when I drove it for a week.

Personally, the power (or lack thereof) doesn't bother me. Like I mentioned, if you're concerned with the 0-120km time, this car is going to frustrate the hell out of you.I've never been a hothead behind the wheel, so it's not something that weighs heavily on my decision of what car to buy.
Personally, for me, fuel economy is king, and you'll go a long way trying to find better.
