I went to the launch of the Golf 7. They had a track day as well to demonstrate the vehicles capabilities.
VW claims it's been completely re-engineered from scratch, and is a major leap ahead in quality and technology from the previous generation 6.

They also claim it will be on average R7000 cheaper than the current Golf 6 across the range.

Also the New Golf will park itself without you touching the accelerator or steering wheel!

The GTi will be launched around May this year, and there's two new VW's being launched in SA toward the end of the year.

What do you guys think? Do you like it?

And please, Roux, don't troll this thread.

I see it had a lot more of the '4 rings' in its design. For the price I still think an a3 is better value.

Problem is, as it is with any car belonging to a particular range these days, that there will be a new one in 5 years - leaving you with the choice of keeping it (and risking heavy depreciation and maintenance costs) or trading it in (and forking out even more cash).

Thanks for the pics dude...
i went to the launch of the golf 5 (plus track day) was an awesome day on the track too..

Strains of Polo/Jetta in the front. Could the design be any more unsurprising? I suppose that is what the Volkswagen fans like though.

It looks like a Polo violated an A3 and this is their love child.

Looks ok, I wanna see the Gti though. Is the self parking feature standard across the range?

Not bad but i think its better than Golf 5 facelift( i mean golf 6)

I'm pretty shocked that it's actually going to be a bit cheaper than the G6. Normally prices for these things go only one way, and that's up. Has VW SA realized that they're pricing themselves out of the market?

Waiting to see the local price on the GTi ... if not too my liking i'll probably end up buying one of the non GTi ones

Spy photos for golf 8 soon.

I wonder if we'll get the "Diesel GTi" this time round.

Looked like a phenomenal car without the fuel economy hurt.

Awesome Awesome Awesome!
I will believe the price drop when I see it though. VWSA is renowned for their love of money and raping the consumer.
Was there any mention of the Adaptive Cruise Control being offered in SA? Because that's one of my must-have features but a previous article somewhere said that it's not going to be offered in SA :(

@SauRoNZA: I was actually trying to get details about the GTD last night, looks like it'll launch later in the year in Europe, so let's hope we actually get it this time :D

Been looking at a new car and had no idea the Golf 7 was on it's way in.
Got any more pics ?

GTD that's the name I was looking for, couldn't remember it even though it's so bloody obvious.

With the conservative economical engines on the new Golfs I can't imagine the track was much fun..
