You also have to have a key cut to match the ignition barrel. its a pretty organised thief that can cut a vw key blade, gain entry to a vehicle and attempt to start the car in the time that the immobiliser take to "forget" the previous key code
No such thing, Sportback is just Stationwagon misspelled.Same as an A3 Sportback...
I'm sure they just took the transponder they cut out and put it next to the key reader to "prove" that it starts without the transponder. Hell, my Citi checks for a coded key every time I start, so no reason to believe VW has changed that behaviour recently.Wonder if this trick will work on the Golf 7

If you don't know your cars you could quite easily fool people into thinking you rolling with a GTI.
Doubt it - It's missing the exhausts, rims, scoops and badges. Everyone knows the GTI.![]()
