Hi all

I bought the current VW Polo 15 months ago.

Recently I realised that my aircon wasn’t working for some reason. The light goes on when I press the button, but I feel no difference in the air temperature.

I know that the I haven’t used it that much, and I’ve actually gone through two Cape Town winters with the car, meaning that I haven’t used it for about 6 of the 15 months.

Should I just regas it, or is this something that VW needs to look at?

Thanks in advance

At 15 months take it to VW to check, the aircon shouldn't leak gas if it does there's a problem with seals and that means those need to be replaced first. Have you not used it consistently for 6 months? Cause that could lead to rubber perishing.

I haven't really used it for winter. By 6 months, I meant 3 months last year and 3 months this year. Apologies for the confusion. I sent the sales rep an email.

He said it's a small issue and I should bring it in.

It makes me wonder if it's a common problem because it sounded as though he's dealt with it before

My 2005 Polo had aircon issues, the compressor kept packing up. Eventually took it to a non VW air con place and they sorted it out.
