Whilst a particular brand of car has a risk of hijack, one must also consider your place of residence.
Should you reside in a rural town away from a metropolitan crime infested shyte hole, the hijack element would have little weight in a buying decision.
Having said that: I would rather have a Swift 1.2GL (which I have) as a runaround than an UP.
Perhaps someone on this forum can enlighten us plebs as to a premium loading on the high risk hijacking vehicles?
What is the insurance installment loading on a Vivo compared to a Tata (or something similar), assuming a similar purchase price.
That is probably highly dependent op your own profile. I paid R350 for my wife's previous Polo, compared to R450 for the Up!. At the same time I had a colleague that got a premium of R750 on her Polo at the same time, and her's was without excess waivers and rental added.
