Afaik if you open that part of the inverter your warranty blows away with the dust. I would sommer use the blower I use to clean pc's and blow from one side to the other. Maybe try the vacuum first and see if you collect any fluff then use the blower.

Yeah for now I will just clean the outside of the fan. And with the new mesh installed it should keep most dust off but the inverter fans will still suck in some dust. In a couple of years it will be very dusty inside. Will have to monitor the temperatures over time to see when it becomes an issue. Just strange that they don't filter the air at all. I should maybe build a big box with filters to go over the suction side only.

Just remember to only blow out the heatsink, you don't want to blow across the PCBs to prevent static build-up.

That's the great thing about a positive pressure environment, using fans that blow instead of sucking means that you can control the quality of air going in, using filters.
 
Update: Fan Mod

Sorry for the kak pics and dirty surfaces. It is what it is.
Used a piece of allu flat bar I had lying around to mount the fans to the inverter. It just hooks on and hangs balls.
