This is some bad ****.... Have any of you guys had trouble with this....
 ..

Me had to formate and reload Windows over the weekend..
Plug my 2GB flash disk into PC with downloaded drivers to scan with AV software before installing anything.. Bad idea.. got infected again...
formated flash drive and unplugged it before machine could get change to copy any virus stuff back to flash drive. Had to format and reload again...

Me is p|ssed off at this virus now..

Nope..

Always write things to cds or dvds since virtually no viruses can infect them

Unless the computer is infected and while copying a couple of folder you also copy a folder with the infected files with...

Anyways I am allmost allway virus free.. I am currently in between virus software.. My copy expired and waiting for new one.. Only without software for less than 4 days and allready infected can't see how people can stay without AV software...

get AVG or Avast. it's free, and it works.

No it doesn't, no Ant-virus can help. Trust me, the anti-virus will find it but you pc is still fcked.

I had to format my computer twice and my laptop once. ( :( the whole inserting an infected flash thing happened to me as well.)

To the OP: I feel your pain man, I feel your pain!

trust me Bossman, the best is to format, anti-virus won't help.

i got brontok off a cellphone via bluetooth :(

I know it's a K@K one... One of the worst ones I have seen in a while..

I formated all my flash drives on a old Win98 Pc. Found small removal tools on the net for brontok, they also just delete all the files and stuff, but kept on coming back.

After formating for the 3rd time and formatting all flash drives from Win98 all seems fine now. Not gonna use the net at home till I got new AV software later this week. Will only use the net at work :(

Hope the creator of this virus gets @$$ raped by a gang of transgender HIV+ freaks.. LOL :) (me fels much happier then...)

Norton sucks donkey's (o(k.

What Antivirus software are you using? Please, don't tell me it's Norton.... :p:D

Norton sucks donkey's (o(k.

I am happy with Panda Antivirus & Panda Internet Security Suite..

Mine expired and are waiting for my new copy to come. Was only without AV software for about 4 days, when this cr@p entered my Pc..

Damn Virus... : (

Equally pathetic. When it comes to Internet Security, there are only two options to consider. ESET's NOD32, and BitDefender. Sorry mate but Panda won't protect you even from the most simple threats. ;)

Yo! I told you guys, I used avast!, Norton(I know don't tell me), AVG etc. I downloaded every anti-virus known to man but all they could do(well some) was find the virus and delete them but still infected they computer.

I know i don't make sense but this virus is really smart:p

NOD32 and BitDefender are both extremely good products! I use NOD32 on my fileserver and the amount of resources it uses is just staggering! Not even 15MB of memory.

Not like Norton

Yip, use NOD32 on my work and home networks. Fast, easy and works...

Surely you didn't include NOD32 or Bitdefender in those downloads? Avast and AVG are both free products, they don't provide the same amount of protection. ;)

In future we will probably be using two PC's - one running Linux and the other Vista.

Prior to plugging in any USB devices, inserting any CD's or connecting to any Bluetooth devices, we would scan said media/device first with the Linux PC, and only when it's clean, connect/mount said media on the Vista PC...

bah... I don't like that scenario... a pox on all virus writers.

Anybody remember the Exebug virus a long, long while ago? Was just as bad...

@Bossman - hope you get things sorted out.

I use both NOD32 2.7 and AVG Professional 7.5 on my machine :)

That's the WORST possible thing you could ever do! Running two antivirus programs on one system will cause them to conflict. In other words, they will get confused and provide false positives, etc. It's alright to run more than one Antispyware product on your PC, but I strongly suggest you uninstall either AVG or NOD32. If I were you, I'd remove AVG. It's crap.
