Well, I formatted my PC more than a month ago, and installed everything back to normal.

I opened my Outlook and typed in all the settings. All works fine, but when I want to send emails, it gives me an "550 error - Authentication Failed"

So after 40 mins on their Maxi Call number  (what I hate,) they give me the Firewall/Virus setting "solution".

I'm 99% sure it isn't that, because it is the same as before and then it worked.

Anyone else had an issue like this?

Could be the SSL setting is enabled under Internet Email Settings / Advanced

Lets start at the beginning

Outlook or Outlook Express?

What version?

My question though Kiepie.

Why would you want to use an ISP based mail account?

Here's the WA knowledge base:
http://www.webafrica.co.za/kb/

I can't change right now, as my email address can't be changed at some places. Is it possible for Outlook to handle 2 mail accounts?

One from WebAfrica and one from Gmail?

The solution is simple:

You need to enable the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option in the E-mail Accounts section, under "More Options".

Here's a screenshot: http://www.sonic.net/support/ss/windows/o2003/settings/settings_outgoing.png

Looks like you need to go and work at the call center. Thank you. :)

Yes it is possible to have more than 1 account in Outlook, I've got about 6 ;)

Hi Kiepie,

Really sorry to hear you've been having trouble with us, please let me extend my most sincere apologies for us not being able to solve your problem in an efficient manner. Things have been crazy at the call center over the past 2 days as we initiated the Frogfoot subscriber base migration which went through yesterday.

If you can send me a PM with all the corresponding account details I will have someone follow up for you immediately.

Otherwise, in the meantime you may want to have a look at the following KB articles:
