WA Freezone is Awesome

It's not often that Web Africa gets much praise here.

I'd all but forgotten about their Freezone until I had to DL a 2.5GB patch for Bad Company 2.0.

DL'ed off the WA FTP Server & it got added to my Freezone.

So, then a friend of mine sent me a spare copy of Civilization V which required a Steam account & quite a hefty 3GB DL off the Steam servers.

Wait, I forgot completely that WA is hosting Steam in SA. Once again, having gotten SteamWatch properly configured, it's DL'ing directly off the WA.Steam servers & getting added to my Freezone.

So, I just thought I'd offer praise where praise was due. WA may not be the most affordable ISP in the country taken on price alone.

When you factor in the fact that you get Steam updates & WA.FTP DL's in the Freezone & games hosted on the Wage servers in the Freezone, too - it starts to make sense, especially when I enjoy high speed Internet & nice pings to the servers, even International ones.

5.5GB's so far this month in the Freezone, which didn't cost me a cent

I don't have a problem. I have SteamWatch installed & WA.Steam as the only IP addresss in the Whitelist on my SteamWatchSettings.XML file. Connects just fine.

I've had a few minor problems with Steam but considering you get it for free it's not an issue

YES it is, 1+ for WA for freezone ... and allot of the updates are on their FTP site and its all part of freezone,
got my 2.4 gig update for BFBC2 from there 2ce and all on freezone

Yeah also think its awesome. Their linux ftps aren't bad either.

Yeah back online for me too now. Also checked usage & Freezone is working correctly on th FTP.

yeah, me too. Did about 30gb this month on Steam Christmas specials. .
Still, new games doesn't always want to download and sometimes steam doesn't want to connect through SteamWatch.
