Is anyone getting any joy from it atm?

Can't connect since yesterday, which is unusual for the WA NS.

I'm currently connected to it, and haven't really had an issue connecting in the past month.

Thanks.

Finished troubleshooting it. For some reason news.webafrica.co.za doesn't point at the NS anymore, but news.wa.co.za does. Weird.

Code:
[jeff@wajeff ~]$ telnet news.webafrica.co.za 119
Trying 41.185.24.24...
Connected to news.webafrica.co.za.

200 wa-cpt-news.wa.co.za NNTPCache server V3.0.2 [see www.nntpcache.com] (c) 1996-2002 Julian Assange <[email protected]> Nov 17 2009 ready (posting ok, 111013 groups available).

Can you guys give it a bash now? Should be sorted out.

On the whole this news server works like a dream for me - speeds might vary a bit, but I am very happy with it. Good one WA

Yep it's pretty good provided the age of the posts are not too old. Works very well in conjunction with a paid server.

anybody wiling to help me how to connect to webafrica news server.
bit of a newbie on news servers. normally use torrents. :o

Get a newsreader eg grabIt or sabnzbd, setup the server details and in the case of sabnzb your download paths. Get nzb file from nzbsrus.com or nzbmatrix.com (just google for more sites). Open the nzb file in the reader. Easy as 1,2,3

PS: grabIt sucks. Use sabnzbd ;)

thanx Jeff ... been trying to get someone to help with a little run through for ages.
and i'll drop grabit !

Oh n let us know when that blog is up

GrabIt is shocking! I used it a while back and couldn't take it anymore.
Alt.binz works for me, but I do prefer SABnzbd. Keep an eye on the blog, should be up by next week Tuesday at the latest.

SABnzbd rocks (a major improvement on Grabit) - thanks to Stephen at WA for helping me get it up and running.

the new grabit automatically opens a new batch when a nzb file is downloaded, then unrar's it when done downloading .i couldnt get altbinz to do that.

still struggling. i am fakin impatient here.
will appreciate print screens.tried using SABnzbd, filled in the server and port. test server and gives errors
