First Off "I am one of the lucky ones who got a 30Gb Account for R199,00"

Second "I didn't bring this yet to the attention of WA, reason it happens at odd times and sometimes only for a few minutes and knowing support persons at the moment you bring them issues which can't be replicated they're not going to be of any use to you"

Third "I want to find out if I am the only one experiencing this"

Since the 1st of march I have been using my 30Gb account (I am not a heavy user, but an average user so most of the times I won't use the 30Gb amount anyways) but on several occasions I had to go back to my what is now my spare account afrihost, due to the fact that internet is non existant on WA not even local hosted sites will load. I reconnect maybe half an hour later on WA and everything is fine again.
This happens every second day or so for a while, sometimes several times a day, but sometimes to short say 1 to 2 minutes before I swicth over to Afrihost.

1. I never experienced those problems before.
2. The fact that I can connect with my spare account indicates it is not the line (in my case wimax)

I know I haven't reported this to WA sofar, but due to the fact it happens randomly and is not a constant thing being in IT support myself and knowing how difficult it is to trace this or replicate a problem I haven't bothered to contact them as I just don't have the time to phone them at the moment it occurs and sending a support call by email is not going to help because by that time the problem is not there.

Please any feedback is welcome and I know WA monitors this forum then they can take this as an issue they can look into and if they feel I put their reputation down they can take away my 30Gb account no Hard Feelings.

I've experienced something similar on the WA account one or twice immediately after I have connected. I just disconnected and reconnected and it worked, not really an issue. In the past on IS accounts I've had the internet "die" on me for 30minute periods then suddenly work again. Not usually much of an issue, because I always have a backup account from another provider.

I don't know my WA account has been as stable as my Telkom ADSL account. No problems on my side.

I'm pretty sure this happens on many ISPs. But if I think about, yes, more on web africa than axxess or afrihost (those being the adsl isps I have experience of). (And very very often on vodacom 3G!)

They might not be able to do anything about it immediately, but if you don't report it, they aren't going to be able to do anything about it at all.

I am also one of the lucky winners of the 30GB special, but I cannot say I have had any such issues. I have several people online just about throughout the day, to the early hours of the morning. I have found my line to be far more stable. No difficulty loading any particular sites.

I had an issue when my internet suddenly cut off on the first day, but I called WA and they told me I hadn't yet activated the account, which they did for me, and I have been online ever since without a problem.

I also have the 30GB account, it's been erratic over the last few days, sometimes no connectivity for a few minutes, sometimes very slow (like now)

Hi moklet

I would like to have your account investigated for you.

Could you please pm me your contact details and client code so that I may have it investigated

Thank you.

I've had exactly the same thing happen with my 30GB Int. account.

Thank you.

I phoned your support line last night @ +- 6:45pm when my net was down again. I was under the impression it was caused by DNS issues seeing as my line was synching at 4MB down/512k up just fine, but the support technician informed me that WA is experiencing authentication issues and he gave me 2 static DNS IP's that have been working for ages.

I rebooted my router a few times before it started working again.

It's also been happening to me the whole of the month...once a day or so. The same line & router was used with Afrihost / Axxess without any glitches so I'm ruling out hardware / telkom infrastructure.

Hi Voicy

I would like to have your account investigated as well.

Thank you.

I've been on webafrica for a long time, never really experienced any down time on their packages although i don't have my ADSL line on one of their complete packages. However, there service in general has been awesome. got 2 mates using the 30gig special packages and they have had nothing but good to say about WA

WA should go into crime solving seeing that they are forever investigating stuff - LOL

We've had it happen far more on Afrihost than Web Africa.

Normally WA is very stable for me, but surprisingly not as quick as afrihost - must just be the spread of sites and upstream providers.

I like the fast response time from WA to the posts. Impressive service

At times my 30Gb goes on the 'freeze'. Nothing for a few minutes then suddenly life as we know it is restored.
