I am interested in WebAfrica’s’ Titan packages but see that the Telkom ADSL line is included in the package. How is the service from WA regarding the Telkom line? Anyone had any issues with them reporting a fault/managing their line?

No issues at all
Very reliable service

You'll find that transferring a line between ISPs is always potentially a hassle because it falls into that grey area where neither side takes full responsibility.

Fault reporting goes like this:
  1. You phone WA & they check the account (ADSL side).
  2. You phone Telkom on 0800 375 375 and ask them tech support to reset the line
  3. Failing that you ask Telkom to send a tech (same num)

You can ask WA to do all of the above I suppose, but I usually phone Telkom & cut out the middle man...faster & more direct.

As for WA Titan, I'd say go for it. You pay a premium for stability & reliability but thats worth it. :) Especially if your the kind who needs a reliable connection & doesn't plan on downloading 50gb+ per month.

I honestly don't see a problem with transfering the line. If you not happy with the ADSL service, just keep your line with the ISP and get your data bundle from another ISP.
The WA titans don't come in data only flavour anymore....those were sold out asap.

I am currently in the process of moving over to the WA Titan Complete package. I subscribed on the 24 June 2010 , I am still waiting to be activated :(

I ordered my Titan Complete 2 on April 30th. Even though the house already had a 512k Telkom line I am still waiting for this to get sorted out, 2 months later.

WA tell me that Telkom transferred the line to Atlantic by mistake, they only found this out when I contacted them 6 weeks after placing the order to ask why it was taking so long.
A week ago I contacted them again to check on progress. The line is finally with them but they are still trying to get Telkom to do the line upgrade. Two days later I asked why the line upgrade wasn't done yet, they said they have escalated the issue to Telkom management.
A week later and I still seem to be on a 512k line.

So there's my sad story. On the bright side, somewhere in all that discussion with the support staff I got them to give me a Titan Data package in the mean time so I at least have something decent for now.
Most of the blame goes to Telkom, but WA should have noticed when the line transfer didn't go through instead of me having to ask them to call Telkom 6 weeks down the line.

Hi Guys.
The Titan complete packages are still available. These packages come with a high amount of data with your ADSL line rental, but only allows for 1 concurrent connection.
If you need details for one of the packages please contact me or pm me your details.
If you are still waiting on a line transfer or new line order, we are on it.

Hi Splice-- Due to Telkom's freeze period we cannot make these happen quicker if you call our complete department they can check on you order with Telkom.

Hi Maddmatt

It's troubling to hear of the service you received.

In order for me to investigate further why you had to wait so long for feedback, please PM me your client code and contact details. I will thoroughly investigate and provide you with feedback shortly.

Finally got my Titan Complete 2 running. Nice to see 4MBit speeds! I do miss my 8MBit line in New Zealand but hopefully the Telkom speed upgrades will take car of that :)

Have been with WA since the initial Seacom issues, managed to get a Titan Data 25gb package - no issues whatsoever, and very clued up support from my experience.

Thanks for the kind words guys and the feedback. There are definitely cracks we can close in our Complete process and are pushing to ensure that our customer experience is nothing but excellent.

Just got my message that my Titan package is activated. Nice to see people actually doing work around here even if I had to complain first :) Hopefully I get 10mb speeds as my line is a 12mb line.

I've PMed Jon, but have not had a reply yet about the Titan package...

Enjoy - let us know your speeds when you get a chance

I only got ADSL recentlyish after having being on Iburst for a few years. After a bit research, I went with WA and have not regretted it for one second. I was one of the fortunate ones to get the 30GB data and 4Mb line for R499/month. I play a lot of online FPS and have no issues whatsoever with my pings. Downloads via local sites are acceptable and via newsservers not too shabby. I've had one or two issues before, but after creating a support ticket, my problems have always been sorted out quickly and professionally. I've always received a very prompt response to my initial ticket to explain they have received it and will respond asap.

So, go with WA, I would gladly recommend them as your ISP.

I requested a Titan Complete 3 package on the 23rd/06 for activation on 1st/07, moved away from Afrihost.
With the telkom freeze activation happend on 5th/07.

I can only commend Web Africa for there excellent service so far!
