Wait for iPhone 5 ?

In June we will get iOS 5 for our iPhones, and iPads. I don't think the iPhone 5 will be a huge improvement, and the iPhone 4 is already so capable. So I'm going for iPhone 4 now, with iOS5 soon. Hell yeah.

September with the Iphone 5 launch only

GSMArena. Ever heard of them?

Nice table chart. Got some obvious hardware errors - the screen on the iPhone 4 and the camera are actually better. Bigger is not always better! The 5mp on the iPhone 4 beats all camera phones except the n8, and the display has fantastic black levels, the best resolution and viewing angles.

Anyway the decision to buy an iPhone is usually made on the basis of software.

Ok, let's see.

HTC Desire HD vs iPhone 4

1 Ghz CPU > 800 Mhz CPU
768 MB RAM > 512 MB RAM
4.3'' Display > 3.5'' Display
HSDPA 14.4Mbps > HSDPA 7.2Mbps
8MP Camera > 5 MP Camera
Stereo FM Radio with RDS > No radio
Adobe Flash 10.1 > No Flash support
DLNA > No DLNA
Removable battery > Non-removable battery

So exactly where is the iPhone still the winner? In your dreams? :p

i love android but the iphone still does circles aroud android ui wise..its elegant...android on the other hand does a lot more..iphone is like toyota corrola of smartphones. reliable and works b ut boring as f#ck!!!!!

I don't think it's available anymore. There was an iPhone 4 for R250 a month on business call with Vodacom. You can still get an iPhone 4 8gb through MTN though.

Apple seems to be sticking with an annual release cycle - March for iPads and June/July for iPhones.

I can see that

Something didnt seem right with that table - then I realised the iPhone 4 that you have as Feb 10 2011 is actually the Verizon cdma model. I don't see why there should be a difference though between the release dates of the 8gb and 16/32gb models?

Whats up with the 12 month difference in the 3Gs though? You've got the 8gb released on June 24 2010 and the 16/32 a year earlier.

Sorry should have mentioned I did a quick type of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iphone#Model_comparison

What I wanted to show is that its not all just cut and dry 1 year release cycle.

It was, when I wrote the post. :)

Apple changed the cycle with the 4s - if I had to guess it was to balance out the disparity between the ver 4 GSM and CDMA releases.

Oh crap, didn't notice it was a necro thread.... my bad.

/hides in corner.
