@davidwza, I don't work for MTN. I just told you what I picked up from their general advertising. You'll have to take up your problem with customer care yourself. "Comparing apples with apples" as mentioned on the MTN website, MTN unfortunately comes up short :sick:

Total usage = 2 667 628 697 bytes

You where Charged = R 513.58 excl. vat. (GPRS)


Calculation 2667628697 / 1024 / 1024 = 2544.05 MB

2544.05 - 2048 = 496.05 MB

496.05 x R 1.20 = R 595.26 incl. vat.

595.26 / 1.14 = R 522.16 excl. vat.

I see MTN actually short charged you.

What you are looking at is my last months billing which I am NOT disputing, i know what i used and what I went over and this in NOT a problem. I was allocated 2Gigs as per the MTN offer and went over it - fine.

What I am specifically referring to is my current month where I have only been allocated 1 Gig and I have used 1.2 gigs which i found by looking at my current unbilled balance on MTN active, i once again state that you have charged me for the amount over 1 gig which means that I am no longer receiving my 2nd gig free which has been stated by various sources within this forum that it is still avaliable, I am merely putting the record straight to people who think the special is still happening because its not. maybe you would care to comment on that.

If the original people advised me of this on the 25th when your escalation dropped on my desk that this has been via Myadsl, this would have been resolved a long time ago. Just glad the air is cleared now.

Maybe just as a foot note.

MTN's promo is still running, and will do so till the new price structure has been approved to make it more inline with the current pricing, but with a choice of the amount of GB's you want. Like let’s say 1 GB for half of R 399 or something to that effect. Not to clear on the developments currently. Once I have the new pricing structure I'll Post it here.

Who is going to refund me the R389-00 i just paid to Vodacom for a further 2gigs because i righfully beleived i only had 1gig data allocated to me?

Heck, I knew the promotion was still running - and I haven't even bought one. You should really search and read more. This has been discussed many times and re-stated too.

@Skeptik - what would you believe - what you read on this forum, and I am not discounting what is posted here because this is an incredible source of information, or what you see in a webpage on the official MTN website backed up by the fact that I only received 1Gig of Data this month?:confused:

I have to agree with dawid - I mean, if I got charged by MTN after 1Gb... uh... surely they are the authority on their own billing...
then again...

The real issue here is that MTN are not telling their customers whats potting... after many questions on these forums. Why should we have to hunt the earth for the answer to a simple query?

And thank you for posting your correspondence with MTN with the rest of the forum.. I have been blasted by MTN for doing the same as their customer - I for one like to hear everyone else's experience.

MTN is not that bad.

Just the communication channels suck some times. As noted in the PM.

I'm back now and hopefully we can prevent these type of mishaps from escalting out of control, like yours almost did.

Damn I just love the forum :D

Unfortunately wait and see in SA terms means - you're waiting and seeing who's going to sneeze first...
