Synopsis: IT Manager with overall accountability for providing IT Network Services to the Groups business

Description: Main Role:

• Have overall accountability for providing IT Network Services to the Groups business
• Our client runs a WAN between many office parks and buildings. Client Customers connect into the WAN (own fibre, leased line and wireless). The network is mission critical. An IP camera network is also part of the mission critical services
• There is also some more tradition IT Management roles

Key responsibilities of this role:

• Manage WAN design, architecture, build, configuration and maintenance
• Manage infrastructure design, implementation, configuration and maintenance
• Management of access control / security systems
• backups and maintenance on hardware and software
• 2 direct reports - manage, assign and monitor work
• Manage Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing
• IT Infrastructure project management.
• hardware/software related queries
• Minimise the adverse effect on the business of incidents and problems caused by errors in the infrastructure, and proactively prevent the occurrence of incidents, problems and errors.
• Manage IT Support desk: central point of contact between the user and IT Management to handle incidents and requests, and provide an interface for user and IT Management.
• Manage IT operations and staff with the aim to achieve IT objectives and reduce costs.
• Management of telephone systems
• Maintenance and/or acquisition of all electronic equipment

Requirements: Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university or college with concentration in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering, planning and implementing LAN's / WAN's.
• Experience and ability in managing multiple servers with emphasis on maintaining existing infrastructure.

Knowledge:

• Good knowledge of networking (including protocols, wireless and wired),
• Knowledge of Routers,
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, applications and IT concepts

Skills:

• Networking knowledge
• Linux knowledge (including firewalls, DNS server, DHCP server, thin clients and web server management)
