You know, we get so used to ordering stuff over internet, it becomes second nature to us. Why walk into a shop to buy stuff when you can just have it delivered to your home, often at better prices?

I'll tell you why - because then you actually get what you pay for.

After hours of perusing the internet, I found that wantitall seemed to offer reasonable prices for the type of item i was looking for. So I requested some quotes for specific items I was interested. I received no reply from my quote requests, got tired of waiting, so went ahead and purchased one of the items already listed. Quite an expensive item mind you. I checked out, paid, and the amount went off on my credit card. Transaction complete.

Until I got an email, saying that their supplier price have changed, and that they therefore canceled my order. Now honestly, where in your life have you ever heard of this sort of customer service?

Boooh Wantitall! Boooooh

They get most of their stuff from Amazon.com and don't update all their products quickly.

BTW. ap0c, won't you get into trouble ripping off amazon.com's buttons and using it on your site?

dotVIBE I feel your pain, I'm waiting for close to 4 weeks now for a pair of headphones! 4 weeks! It's now apparently in the country but stuck at customs for a few days for a spot inspection.

Hmm, I was just about to order some camera gear from them, but will need it by the 16th of August ... not too sure now if I should do it, or rather fork out the extra cash and buy it locally

then why is it a bad experience they had no stock gave your money back

wow this company sucks geez

imagine the shock and horror a company has no stock of an item

landy why dont u just order and see this thread it totally silly man

I had the same experience with Amazon, got my money back, waited a week for the book, just got a copy/paste email from the supplier........out of stock. I think a call earlier would have been more apropriate. Making me wait like a fool and letting me down, it sucks

Yeah, well it sucks to buy something and then be told that the price has gone up. After you already paid.

Anyway, they offered me a discount on something else. Thanks wantitall.

I'd get it direct from B&H - you wont get the extra batteries but you'll still save as compared to getting it locally.

Feo is still waiting after 4 weeks ... the stuff I want to order is coming from Amazon, 7-15 working days. 15 is pretty much the most I can wait, otherwise it is too late ... can't take that chance

Will have to look at the shipping, and time to get here ... that will be the biggest deciding factor at this stage

So money is no object uncle Landy? Buy me a plane ticket, I'll go get for you :p ;) :D hehehehe

These are the prices for shipping the grip
Code:
Shipping Method | Shipping Cost

UPS Worldwide Saver
3-5 Business Days Delivery $81.10

FedEx Priority
3-5 Business Day Delivery $146.00

International Express Mail
5-7 Days Delivery $48.50

International Priority Mail
10-14 Days Delivery $41.50

I'd either go for UPS or International Express Mail if time was a factor.

EDIT - this - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/352101-REG/Sigma_F149101_EF_500_DG_Super_Flash.html - with shipping will cost me r700 less. Pity they're closed for another 10 hours (Sabbath). :o

Amazon shipped me a book and I went to the Post Office 10 days after I placed the order on Amazon.com to find that it'd been waiting there for me for 3 days already, so that's from the States to SA in 7 days flat.

I'm really disappointed that I'm being made to wait a month just for a pair of bloody headphones :(.

The number of times the SA postal service decided not to notify me of a parcel - ugh - talk about infuriating!

Grip, 2 batteries and charger (pretty much the same as the wantitall package) = $351.45 (incl shipping) ± R2500
