I'll be working on the test app/script tonite, so we just disembark, click, and wait/drink beer/pick our noses.

I'm going to be using windump (the equivalent of tcpdump on unix), to store the full tcp sessions as we're downloading. These can then be analyzed by tcptrace, telling us exactly what is going on on each towers' TCP transmissions, from retries, to Round Trip Time, etc...

Well just had a thought......10 people testing X 128 package minimum(some guys have a higher package)

equals "theoretically" over a 1 meg load on the tower........

ITS GONNA BE INTERESTING

PS we are not responsible if you dont have bandwidth on Sunday....phone the help desk

Will be interesting, the minimum backhaul links is 4mb so in theory it should manage fine with all 10 of us testing.

Hey guys, just a quick note, and this is very dissapointing (to me at least) I wont be able to join you guys today on the trip. Unfortunatly the idiots (who can barely work a pc) have decided that they THOUGHT I knew exactly what the hell they wanted (probably by the lack of their IQ's) in the application I wrote for them, now I have to work yet another full weekend (making it 3 continuous months) ... I am seriously starting to doubt that all this *** load of money Im getting paid is worth my already diminished sanity... TheRodent, drink a beer for me won't ya

Help save the bandwidth. Decent download speeds for TheRodent! Stop downloading now!!!

Just a thought, in addition to your current tests, why not try send a file from one modem (in the car) to another guy sitting next to you. In theory this type of traffic should be uncapped and run at full speed (even though we know it wont be half that) but it would be a good way to assess the traffic on each tower comparatively.
BTW, the towers are higher than 4Mbps each. They are something like 25 Mbps downstream and 10Mbps upstream but I guess that also varies from tower to tower and the congestion at Honeydew.
